employment services

I walked into an office with no idea what to expect—just a flyer that said they help people train for jobs and find work. That’s all I needed at that moment. My life, self and career had fallen apart after a significant personal setback, and I just wanted a fresh start.

I sat down with the program coordinator, shared my story, and for the first time—outside of my family—someone saw me as more than my struggles. They treated me like a person with potential, not just someone who had been through tough times.

Beyond the job search and training, the best part of the program was the community. I met some of my closest friends there, who became my biggest cheerleaders.

Fast forward: I loved the program so much that I connected the dots between my experience and my passion for helping others. That led me to work in employment services for five years.

But that wasn’t the end of the journey. The people around me kept encouraging me to pursue my first passion—strategic and international communication. So, I kept up with industry trends, built my skills, and stayed in the game.

Even further down the road, I found myself in a role that blends both worlds: strategic communication and employment services. Now, I get to be part of work that help people find their next job, goal, and step forward.

I remind myself daily how important it is to do work that truly resonates with me. But more than anything, I’m grateful. I am thankful for the support I received when I needed it most—and now for the chance to pay it forward in my work.

P.S. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of this journey. you know who you are, and I'm forever grateful for what you have done for me. :)
